Os indicados ao The Game Awards 2024 foram anunciados.

Astro Bot e Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth concorrem a sete prêmios, incluindo Jogo do Ano. A Sony Interactive Entertainment é a editora mais indicada do The Game Awards em 2024, com 16 indicações, seguida pela Square Enix e Xbox com 12 indicações cada, e Sega com 11.

Os indicados foram anunciados na segunda-feira pelo apresentador e produtor do evento, Geoff Keighley, e escolhidos por um júri votante de publicações da mídia.

Há 27 prêmios em disputa no total (veja a lista completa de indicados abaixo), com os vencedores definidos por uma votação mista entre o júri votante (90%) e a votação pública dos fãs (10%).

De hoje até 11 de dezembro às 18h (horário do Pacífico), os fãs podem votar nos vencedores em todas as categorias por meio de votação online em http://www.thegameawards.com.

O Game Awards será transmitido ao vivo do Peacock Theatre em Los Angeles na quinta-feira, 12 de dezembro, começando às 21h30. Os organizadores dizem esperar “prêmios, anúncios de estreia mundial de novos jogos e apresentações musicais da The Game Awards Orchestra, conduzida por Lorne Balfe”.

Baldur’s Gate 3 foi o maior vencedor do The Game Awards 2023, levando para casa seis dos oito prêmios para os quais foi indicado.

De acordo com o The Game Awards, seu evento de 2023 entregou um “recorde” de 118 milhões de transmissões ao vivo globais, que, segundo ele, representaram um aumento de 15% em relação ao showcase de 2022.

O RPG de Larian levou o cobiçado prêmio de Jogo do Ano, bem como prêmios de Melhor Desempenho, Melhor Suporte à Comunidade, Melhor RPG, Melhor Multijogador e Voz do Jogador.

Alan Wake 2, que também foi indicado a oito prêmios, ganhou três prêmios na forma de Melhor Direção de Jogo, Melhor Direção de Arte e Melhor Narrativa.
